This Cinema 4D course consists of six sessions of two hours each. You will be attending a live two-hour session, and given homework before your next session. The entire duration of the course varies between 3-5 weeks.

Class 1 – Introduction to Cinema 4D and the 3D Workflow
During this first two-hour class, you will learn the fundamentals of 3D workflow and be introduced to some of the core concepts behind Cinema 4D. You will learn how to set up a scene, create and modify parametric objects, use transform tools such as “Move”, “Scale” and “Rotate” as well as saving project files.

Class 2 – Object Hierarchy and Polygonal Modelling
Now that you are familiar with the basics of Cinema 4D, you will start digging deeper into the world of 3D modelling. You will learn how to create relationships between objects and convert parametric objects into polygonal ones. You will learn how to use tools such as “Extrude”, “Knife”, “Extrude Inner”, “Polygon Pen” and more.

Class 3 – Using Materials and Lights
In order to bring your 3D objects to life, you will need to create and apply different types of textures to them and light your scene up. This class will teach you how to use the “Material Manager” as well as various types of lights including “spot light”, “omni light” and “area light”.

Class 4 – Introduction to 3D Animation
During this class, you will learn how to change a parameter over time by using keyframes. You will be introduced to the timeline and the concept of 3D animation as well as using the “F-Curve Editor”, which lets you create a classic bouncing ball.

Class 5 – Working with Generators and Deformers
This class will teach you how to create various types of objects and modify them by using “Generators” and “Deformers”. You will be able to draw any custom shape and create a 3D model from it then use deformers to bend, twist, taper and distort these models.

Class 6 – Render Settings and Tricks
Once you complete your scene you will need to render and export it so you can share it with the rest of the world. This class is all about taking your 3D scene and creating both still and video files from them such as JPEGs and QuickTime files.
