This Premiere Pro course consists of six sessions of two hours each. You will be attending a live two-hour session, and given homework before your next session. The entire duration of the course varies between 3-5 weeks.

Class 1 – Introduction to Adobe Premiere Pro and Video Editing
During this introduction class, you will learn how to create a project in Premiere Pro, the general user interface, important preferences, optimum project settings as well as importing different types of media (video, audio and stills) into your project. You will be introduced to concepts such as “Frame Size”, “Frame Rate” “Codec” and more.

Class 2 – Viewing and Editing Clips to a Sequence
Now that you are familiar with the Premiere Pro interface, you will start working on video clips by opening, viewing, marking, and performing edits. You will learn how to use the “Overwrite Edit” and “Insert Edit” functions, as well as various shortcuts to speed up your workflow. During this class, you will start to edit a short interview.

Class 3 – Working with Multiple Tracks
In order to enhance your storytelling, you will need to have full control over your tracks in Premiere Pro. This class will teach you how to work with multiple tracks, and prepare you for using “cutaway” shots. You will also learn how to work with clips in the timeline by moving, trimming, copying, trimming and deleting them.

Class 4 – Audio Editing
Before you start this class, you will have an edited timeline from the previous classes. During this two-hour class, you will learn how to add an audio track to your sequence, as well as adjusting the levels, using audio transitions, audio keyframes and best practices.

Class 5 – Video Transitions and Titles
You will now start working with video transitions such as “cross-dissolve”, “dip-to-black”, “wipe” and more. As well as adding and customising these transitions, you will also learn how to create different types of titles, including “still”, “rolling” and “crawling” titles.

Class 6 – Working with Effects and Rendering
Once you have completed your sequence and refined it, you will now learn how to apply various effects such as colour correction to your video clips. You will be introduced to the concept of rendering, as well as exporting with the right settings and codecs.
